January 7, 2025, was a historic day for Ghana as John Dramani Mahama took the oath of office to become the 6th President of the Fourth Republic.

The ceremony also saw the swearing-in of the country's first female Vice President, Prof Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang.

GhanaWeb visited the inauguration venue to capture the atmosphere after the big event.

The Black Star Square has changed since the celebrations ended.

The streets are now quiet and empty as cars can move easily.

The seats that were filled to capacity just 24 hours ago are now empty, except for a few individuals catching a quick nap, likely exhausted from the excitement of the day before.
