In a colorful ceremony held on March 24, 2025, the Ghana Armed Forces bid farewell to its outgoing Chief of Defence Staff, General Thomas Oppong-Peprah.

The handover of authority to his successor, Major General William Agyapong, marked the end of his chapter in military leadership.

The ceremony, held at Burma Camp, featured a grand guard of honour parade with troops from the army, navy, and air force marching in perfect harmony to bid his farewell.

To honour his remarkable service, General Oppong-Peprah was showered with heartfelt gifts from various institutions, including the armed forces and allied security agencies.

During his speech, he expressed gratitude to key individuals and institutions that supported him throughout his tenure, including President John Dramani Mahama, former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and the Ministry of Defence.

He urged the leadership of the Ghana Armed Forces to uphold professionalism and rally behind the newly appointed CDS to ensure the continued transformation of the military.
