The Christian version of the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service was held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at the auditorium of the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).

The event, which was graced by President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Prof. Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, was attended by thousands of Ghanaians, including members and leading figures of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

One of the most beautiful moments at the event was when all the clergymen, including Rev. Isaac Owusu-Bempah, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, and Most Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, prayed for President John Dramani Mahama.

The renowned clergymen, led by Duncan-Williams, encircled the president and issued a thunderous prayer for him.

After an intense period of worship, Duncan-Williams placed his hand on the shoulders of the president to pray for him as the other pastors were silently praying.

He prayed for renewed strength for Mahama as he takes the helm of government for a second time.

He prayed that Mahama’s second term of office would be filled with God’s blessings, which would lead to prosperity for the good people of Ghana.

“Let the curse that no president has been able to break be broken in his (Mahama's) term of office. Let him be a curse-breaker. Let him become a wonder president. Let him become a game changer,” he invoked.
