It is the season of giving as the holidays approach and many people look for ways to help others, especially the needy.
Waxprint Media has teamed up with Life Commission and other Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to direct their generosity to the less privileged in an end-of-year donation solicitations galore.
It was a cocktail gathering at the Empower Office Suites at The Octagon in Accra on December 20, 2017 where gifts were beautifully wrapped and Christmas cards signed for children at the Hearts of Father Orphanage at Prampram.
The event dubbed ‘The Holiday Give Back’ was attended by friends, family, and acquaintances who were mostly Ghanaians living abroad.
Speaking to Ghanaweb, organisers and partners of the event said there was a sense of fulfillment in giving. According to them, it was an opportunity to give back to society and a way for the children to share in the joy of the yuletide.
Strategist at Waxprint Media Digital Africa, Muhammida Elmuhajir, said the project was “holiday with a purpose” aimed at putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged.
“We’re looking to engaging in more Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Once you know you can help the motivation comes naturally,” Cyril Ofori, Managing Director of So Fraichel Media said.
Mr Mike Nkansah of GoldCoast Partners added, “It’s an opportunity to tap into the goodwill Ghanaians have for each other.”
Items to be donated at the Home on December 26 include Christmas cards, clothes, books, toiletries, stationery and toys wrapped beautifully and ready to be taken to the orphanage.
