Family of the late MP for Abuakwa North, JB Danquah has charged the Attorney General to swiftly prosecute the murder case of the legislator.

Spokesperson for the late MP, Kwaku Solomon in an interview said the family were devastated after the two suspects were discharged after the Attorney General filed a nolle prosequi but later became calm after the suspects were re-arrested.

The Attorney General (AG) filed a nolle prosequi in the case of the two, which had reached the stage where a jury was to be constituted for the trial of Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bosso.

The two, Daniel Asiedu and Vincent Bosso, were discharged yesterday [Tuesday], after the State Attorney, Sefakor Batse, announced at an Accra High Court that the trial will not continue. They were later re-arrested at the premises of the court following fresh evidence gathered by the prosecution.

Kawku Solomon said that was what the family was requesting for and they will humbly appeal to the Attorney General Madam Gloria Akuffo to deal with anyone who is connected to the murder.

‘’If they have gathered fresh evidence, then they should deal with the case swiftly. The perpetrators should be dealt with. We are demanding justice for the late legislator,’’ he said.

The late MP was on Tuesday, February 9, 2016, stabbed to death at his Shiashie residence in Accra. Two days after his murder, the then Accra Regional Police Command, led by COP George A. Dampare, arrested a prime suspect, Daniel Asiedu, who allegedly confessed to committing the crime.

Vincent Bosso, was later arrested as having conspired with Aseidu to commit the crime.
