Branch and Constituency executives of the National Democratic in the Sissala West constituency of the Upper West Region have made a passionate call on Flagbearer Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin to help end what they refer to as “political hunger” they are suffering at the moment.
According to the Vice Chairman of the NDC in the constituency Alhassan Bakpadumah, the party is languishing in opposition because of the neglect of grassroot supporters.
A situation he said has demoralized members who have hitherto been very active and also made the party unattractive to non-members.
The Sissala West NDC Vice Chairman was speaking when the 2nd Deputy Speaker of Parliament met the branch and constituency executives who will be part of the thousands of delegates at the January 26, 2018 presidential primaries of the party at Gwollu to woo them into choosing him over the other six aspirants.
Some of the other delegates who had the opportunity to speak at the gathering recalled the leadership role played by Mr. Bagbin whiles the party was in opposition from 2001– 2008.
“You have done it before, we need you to do it again” the delegates insisted.
Some of the delegates also expressed the conviction that Mr. Bagbin has an deep understanding of the challenges being faced by the party hence deserves the support of all delegates to gain the platform to implement the necessary solutions.
Mr. Bagbin is on a three day tour of the Upper West region to interact and share with delegates his vision for the party in order to get their votes at the upcoming NDC presidential primaries.
The Sissala West Constituency was the second constituency Mr. Bagbin visited in the region.
