We are not ‘mourning’ Jake - John Boadu

The New Patriotic Party is not mourning Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, contrary to what many may think, acting General Secretary of the party John Boadu has stated. According to the NPP's acting Secretary, the party is celebrating the life of its late chairman, Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey.

Speaking at the one year memorial service of the former party executive and advertising mogul, John Boadu highlighted some of the major roles played by the late Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey in ensuring the party's victory in the 2016 election.

‘There is no way you can recount the history of the New Patriotic Party without mentioning Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey. When he became National chairman, He put together a team of business people to the buildup the National Headquarters. So we are not mourning but rejoicing over his achievement for the party’ he said.

He added that the leadership of the party was in talks with family of the late Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey on how to immortalise the NPP stalwart.

Earlier, a memorial service was held at the Ridge Church in Accra as part of activities to mark the one year anniversary of the death of Mr. Obetsebi Lamptey.

The once vibrant and active National Chairman for the NPP passed away on March 20, 2016 in London after battling an ailment.

Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey is reported to have played a critical role in securing victory for the New Patriotic Party in the 2016 elections having failed in an earlier attempt in 2012.
