We are reaping the seed you sowed – Kennedy Agyapong to Rawlings

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong says former President Jerry John Rawlings has no moral right to talk about corruption because he was the one who planted it in the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

“He has no moral right to talk about corruption…he’s pretending to be a saint. I am always surprised when you guys see him as a hero. The kind of training he gave the NDC; the seed he sowed that is what we are reaping today" he said.

Hon Agyapong was reacting to comments made by the former President during the 38th-anniversary of June 4 revolution during a discussion on Adom TV, Tuesday.

Speaking on Sunday at the June 4th anniversary durbar in Wa, the former President and founder of the NDC bemoaned the corruption that bedeviled the NDC when it was in power.

“Let me remind people that we could not have possibly forgotten that generals were executed in 1979 in the rage and anger because of corruption. The greed, corruption and injustice of today believe it or not are a thousand times more than what these generals were executed for. And if we are unable to restore a fair measure of integrity into our dealings, then the blood of many would have been shared in vain. If we cannot get our cloths off and allow for fresh leadership to emerge then we shall sink even further,” he said.
