Constituents of Ranking Member, Communications Committee of Parliament, Alhaji A.B.A. Fuseini, have reminded him of the pact he had with them before being voted for as their Member of Parliament (MP) was to champion development in the area and not the reverse.
According to the agitated constituents of Sagnarigu in the Northern Region, his colleagues have over the years become advocates for developments whilst he only gains notoriety in spewing proverbs which brings nothing to ameliorate their plight.
A resident of Choggu Yapalsi one of the communities within the constituency, Abdul Latif Adams disclosed that their MP is not deserving of the title ‘Tumalana’ to wit great worker he has bestowed on himself revealing that it is the reverse of him.
“Our MP who calls himself Tumalana is not deserving of the name…he is telling lies. He only knows how to speak proverbs anytime they are interviewing him or in parliament, We didn’t send him there [parliament] to be speaking proverbs for us, we want him to work. A.B.A. Fuseini has not done anything in Tamale and Sagnarigu constituency.
“When they called him to a certain radio station in Tamale where they interviewed him, he said the radio station shouldn’t open the phone lines for anybody to ask him questions…A.B.A. Fuseini is not doing anything for us”.
He mentioned deplorable roads in communities such as Kalpohin Village, Kanvili Tuunayali, Gbambaya, Choggu Yilpasi and Sognaayili which should have been worked on but he has turned a deaf ear to the cries of residents and only goes about speaking in proverbs which is in variance to the main reason he was voted for.
This is not the first time constituents have taken on the MP for neglecting his core duties they claim and focusing on proverbs they say is dragging the image of the area into the mud.
It would be recalled that MyNewsGh.com reported in June this year how constituents descended on him in the wake of confusion that broke out at the Tamale Technical University where the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) was holding its constituency executive elections.
The former Minister who appears to have lost out with constituents over accusations he has not developed the area as a former Deputy Minister and MP, was at the venue to witness the exercise since he was a direct beneficiary.
But things got to its head when confusion broke out over alleged over voting which saw some of them hurling insults at the honorable member to the shock of some party executives.
In videos of the incident in possession of MyNewsGh.com, the situation became tensed to the extent that the MP had to also flee as the angry constituents mostly party delegates were heard bashing him.
“We want jobs and development, not proverbs”, “stop the needless proverbs and develop the constituency” and “you will be voted out”, were among some of the comments they passed as A.B.A Fuseini was escorted to his car and driven away under heavy security escort.
But the lawmaker, notorious for using proverbs in response said “ When the rain falls on you, it is a sign of blessing. So if someone pours water on you…it is a blessing. But at the elections ground, nothing touched me. No object touched me.”
