The impasse between the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Electoral Commission seems far from over as the former says it has no confidence in the latter.

Member of Parliament for Odododiodio constituency, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuye says certain actions by the EC are enough indicators that the electoral body is not going to be neutral in the 2020 elections.

“The EC, up till now, has not given us the confidence that they will be neutral arbiters in next year's elections. We will continue talking about this until Jean Mensa and her brother (Bossman Asare) do the right thing,” he opined.

Nii Lante, who was contributing to a panel discussion on Friday’s edition of Peace FM's ‘Kokrokoo’, said the “EC’s actions are becoming so loud, so profound” that it is making it difficult to believe them.

He further indicated that since the EC is not paying heed to their comments, they ‘will do whatever it takes to protect our ballot . . . we will make sure every ballot is counted,” adding “this is not about NDC; it is about Ghana . . ”
