v In a front-page banner headline story, the Evening News, a sister paper of "The Ghanaian Times", exporting Mr Kyeretwie Opoku, interim general secretary of the National Reform Party (NRP), says the party is done with the NDC and would not return to its fold again.
"We are no longer making any demands on the NDC leadership. We want to take power in our own right next year. There is nothing to discuss with NDC", The paper quotes him as saying.
The interim general secretary is said to have explained that the differences between the National Reform Party and the NDC leadership are not personal, such that mediation could help patch up. "Our differences are political", he emphasised.
According to Mr Kyeretwie Opoku, the NRP objected to the deliberate destruction of internal democracy within the NDC and the Assault on democracy in general.
"We objected to the indisciplined arrogance and corruption on the part of the NDC leadership. We objected to the absence of any clear sense of direction on the part of the government. The NDC leadership failure to 'ground' with the ordinary people created all these problems and meant that national socio-political crisis was inevitable. It is that crisis that we see today", he is quoted as saying.
