Gyan told Joy FM’s Kwame Dwomoh-Agyemang in an interview that: “We have got no excuses.”
“We are well prepared. Final is final. Everybody is automatically psyched up for the final,” the Al Ain player said.
“We have to just stay focused for it. I think everybody is prepared,” he observed.
He nonetheless admitted: “Anything can happen but we need to stay focused and do what we do best.”
The striker, who has been battling malaria since the start of the game said: “I am responding to treatment. Everything is going on well. I am positive about it.”
The Stars face the Elephants, in a replay of the Senegal 1992 final in which the Elephants won through penalty kicks.
It was the last time the Elephants won a continental trophy despite a golden generation of brilliant players.
The Ivoirians are keen to end their trophy famine and have an equally unwavering Ghana team to crack. Ghana is also determined to end their 33-year trophy drought.
