The Paramount Chief of the Ampeyoo Traditional area, Nana Odeifuor Frimpong Ware II, has voiced his regrets regarding the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) lack of support during the previous elections, a sentiment he expressed during a visit from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s flagbearer for the upcoming polls.

“I assure you, we will not make the same mistake again,” the chief stated, reflecting on the party’s failure to secure a parliamentary seat in the last election.

He emphasized the importance of rallying behind the NPP, especially given its pivotal role in the establishment of the Oti Region, designed to foster development.

Nana Odeifuor Frimpong Ware II pointed out, “It is only fair to provide the NPP with substantial support, so they can maintain power and continue their crucial initiatives.”

His call to action underlines the chief’s commitment to ensuring that the party receives the backing it needs to succeed in the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.

While acknowledging the challenges, the chief praised Dr. Bawumia for his composed demeanour during the campaign trail.

“Your clean and exemplary campaign has played a significant role in easing the political tensions in our country,” he remarked, highlighting the positive impact of Bawumia’s approach in these politically charged times.
