The #IchooseJM campaign team says its campaign strategy adopted at the VGMAs has made a phenomenal impact on the brand John Mahama than expected.
The group says floating Mahama’s stickers in the arena where Ghana’s big entertainment event was held over the weekend, especially on people’s cars has given them an insight into a longer-term impact such a campaign could be having on Ghanaians.
Most people who attended the VGMA at the Conference Centre walked out of the hall after the show to find the JM sticker placed on their cars.
While some people had no problems with the move, several others felt irritated and could not compromise with it, thus taking it off from their cars.
But the National Coordinator of the group, Francisca Agyei, said although a section of the public has flaked them for the robust campaign to sell the ruling NDC Presidential Candidate at such a public event, it was a smart way of beating their main opponent to it.
“We did that to test the waters for the JM brand, but at least the experience for most people was good. In fact, our opponents didn’t see that coming at all and we’ve managed to make the impact. I was amazed to drive around town today and to my surprise saw people still having the stickers embossed on their cars, Francisca told the host of Si Me So, Kwaku Owusu Adjei on Kasapa FM Monday.
Meanwhile, the group Monday issued a statement apologising for the inconvenience the move might have created for the public.
