The Deputy National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Osman Ayariga, has issued a strong warning to potential appointees under the John Dramani Mahama-led administration.
While addressing supporters during the party’s victory walk on January 4, 2024, the Deputy Organiser emphasised the importance of humility, accountability, and service to the public, cautioning against arrogance in public office.
“And this is also a warning to the future appointees of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama. We shall not entertain any arrogant appointees. The youth of this party will not tolerate arrogance in public office. We will sack you from your position. If you want to be arrogant, set up your private business and run it. We will not come to your private office. But once you're in public office, we will come there in our numbers, just as we went out to campaign for thousands of Ghanaians,” he stated.
Highlighting the sacrifices made by party members during the election campaign, Osman reminded appointees of their responsibility to deliver on their commitments to the electorate.
“It is time for thousands of Ghanaians to come to your door and demand the jobs you promised them. Demand the loans you promised them. Demand the reset agenda we promised them. So, if you are fortunate to be an appointee, make sure you believe in the agenda for Ghana’s future, not your personal interests. Not your pocket reset, not your account reset,” he noted.
