Ghana Immigration Service has listed specific body features that disqualify candidates from getting a job at the immigration service.

Public relations officer at the Ghana Immigration Service, says the reason behind this decision is to prevent such ladies from severe damages during their line of work.

To this effect, the Ghana Association of Persons with Albinism says it will be seeking legal action over this selective process since all albinos have been out-rightly disqualified from the selection process.

According to the association, this move is clearly a discriminatory action against persons living with albinism. Executive Director of the Ghana Association of Persons with Albinism, Newton Kweku Katseku says their main aim is to mount legal pressure against the Immigration Service

“We are collating data on the number of our members who turned up but were turned away because it is a clear violation of the rights of persons with albinism it is discriminatory and violation of our rights,” he stated.
