“Ghana has never had an economy since 1966/67 till date” that is the opinion of the Editor of the Al-Hajj newspaper, Alhaji Bature Iddrissu on the Ghanaian economy.
He argues one cannot claim to be having any better economy where total imports exceed export consistently in a row.
According to him, the Ghanaian economy from old is a ‘moribund economy’ and one that lacked sustainable policies to grow it.
He said until we have what he describes as a sustainable, feasible and appropriate economic programme, the Ghanaian economy still faces an imminent crumbling.
“I can point to you some wonderful economic policies in the past, but basically all of them short-lived because they lacked sustainability."
Speaking in an interview with Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM, Alhaji Bature believes any leader who had served within these periods have not lived up to expectation alluding that successive indiscipline has been a major factor to contend with in the growth of the country.
“We have laws, but, unfortunately, there is no order; and that is what Rawlings sought to do but failed miserably-He had a better opportunity to change all the negatives in eleven years but couldn’t, Alhaji Bature bemoaned.
