The Ghana Drunkards Association has stated that its large membership will play a decisive role in the outcome of the upcoming December 7 elections.
The President of the Association, Moses Drybone, in an interview with Kofi TV monitored by GhanaWeb, argued that the actions of the group’s members on election day will determine which party emerges victorious.
"If you look at the 2024 elections, we are the ones who will determine the winner. As I speak to you, we are about 16.65 million people. If we decide to get drunk before going to vote, we may cast our ballots incorrectly. Some of us, when intoxicated, don’t know where to place our votes on the ballot paper. Another drunk person might attempt to vote but, lacking stability, could end up knocking over the table or ballot box, causing confusion."
Moses Drybone added that the group is also instrumental in the nation’s economic growth.
"If we stop drinking alcohol, Accra Brewery will shut down, Guinness Ghana Ltd will shut down, over 2 million jobs will be lost, and there will be chaos in the country. The President might even declare a state of emergency. When it comes to the nation’s assets, it’s us, the drunkards. That’s why we are very important; in fact, we should be first-class citizens."
The President of Ghana Drunkards Association, Moses Drybone, has elaborated the group’s importance in the country in a recent interview.
