The Health Minister Alban Bagbin has in a subtle reaction to the ongoing strike by consultants at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital declared that government will begin sacking public sector workers who embark on illegal strikes.
Alban Bagbin in an interview with XYZ News said all aggrieved public sector workers must adopt legal processes in finding redress to their concerns rather than resort to illegal and unjustified strikes.
The minister has already appealed to the consultants to rescind their decision and restore their services.
Mr. Bagbin who toured the offices of the Ghana Health Services at Jirapa in the Upper West region chastised the consultants who he accused of seeking after blood money at the expense of human lives.
“Pampering is a thing of the past and so when you go on strike pack out when the allowance come then come and reapply, we will consider whether to give you the resident and employ again you or not”. Hon. Bagbin said.
According to him, “the public sector cannot keep pumping money into your pocket when you are not rendering the requisite service that is not acceptable.
“There are procedures of doing these things, pass through them but don’t sacrifice people to get you money that is blood money”.
