The Volta Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) says it will shock the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the November polls in the region.
Mr Joseph Homenya, the NPP Volta Regional Secretary, at a press conference on Thursday, said the party was working with a solid plan towards winning three parliamentary seats in the region and 30 per cent of all valid votes cast.
“We are targeting a minimum of three seats and at least 260,000 votes for Nana, thus 30 per cent of valid votes cast,” he said.
Mr Homenya said the party was already picking positive results ahead of the polls.
Mr Peter Amewu, the Regional Chairman of NPP, expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people for their overwhelming welcome to Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the party’s flagbearer, during his tour of the southern part of the region.
He said the Volta Region had nothing to fear when Nana Addo became the president and that the NPP’s development agenda encompassed all, the Volta Region inclusive.
Mr Amewu reassured the people that Nana Addo’s government would construct a mini harbour at Keta, create industrial zone at Ketu North and South, reactivate the salt industry, stop pair-trawling, and restore allowances to trainee teachers and nurses.
He called on the media and other stakeholders including the Electoral Commission to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election.
