The Ghana Meteorological Agency has warned that the harmattan over the country is expected to intensify by Wednesday 19th December 2018 especially over the Northern sector.
According to the Agency, Northern Ghana will, therefore, experience reduced visibilities with intense dryness and relatively cold nights during this period.
The Middle and Coastal sectors, including the forest and high grounds of Southern Ghana will also experience significant dryness with intense hazy condition.
The Agency in a statement signed by Senior Meteorologist, Michael Padi advised “the general public, especially farmers, Palm wine tappers, smokers, hunters etc to take precautionary measures by handling naked fire carefully because of the extreme dryness in the atmosphere. Motorists, road users and pedestrians should watch carefully before crossing roads since visibility will not be so good and they cannot see far and clear.”
