Website of Komla Dumor Foundation launched

The Komla Dumor Memorial Foundation launched its official website on Thursday as part of the Foundation’s tool to promote the values of the late Komla Dumor, an ace broadcaster with the BBC.

The website www.komladumorfoundation.org contains details of the different aspects of the foundation, what it is about, and what it stands for.

Mr. Kwei Quaye-Foli, who created the website, said it includes a blog, an event calendar, picture and video gallery, code of ethics and contacts of the foundation.

Mrs Mary Chinery-Hesse, Chairperson, Board of Trustees of the Foundation who officially launched the website, described the late Komla Dumor as the man of the people and added that the principles for which for which he stood for would be sustained on the website.

“The website is an important tool in their endeavour to promote the principles of Komla Dumor and I urge the media to use the website to help tell the African story as Komla Dumor did,” she said.

She said the website is also a platform for young journalists to promote and redefine Africa in the next generation.

She said the brilliance in his field of work should be a challenge for the media to be outstanding.

Mr. Ronald Akorsah, a member of the Board of Trustees, expressed joy in the excellence of the late Dumor’s endeavour to make a difference in the lives of people he came across.

He said the late Dumor believed in ethics and was of the view that bad experiences of life should not be the determining factor of one’s way of living.

He therefore urged everyone to help advance the great ideas of the late broadcaster and mentor.
