Accra, Oct. 3, GNA - The Madina Divisional Police Command at the weekend apprehended 18 suspected 91wee' peddlers, during a swooped. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the Divisional Police Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Paul Ayitey said based on reports received by his outfit from the public on criminal activities, he organized his men and they rounded up the culprits in some target areas. The places stormed by the place included New Legon, Animal Husbundary near the University of Ghana Research Centre, Nungua, Oyarifa, and the Nkwantanang Cluster of Schools in Madina. Chief Superintendent Ayitey indicated that during investigations the Madina Police also retrieved quantities of narcotic drugs which would be sent to the forensic laboratory for examination. He said the culprits would be put before court for prosecution after full investigation into the incident. Chief Superintendent Ayitey called the Ga-East Municipal Assembly to double its efforts in taking the appropriate legal action to eject some prostitutes perching around the Nkwantanang Cluster of Schools in Madina. He gave the assurance that his Division would sustain its operations t= o rid the area of criminal elements.
