Wenchi CLOGSAG not happy with slow pace of migration onto SSSS

Wenchi (B/A), July 7, GNA - The Wenchi Municipal branch of the Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG), has called on the national secretariat of the Association to fast track members' migration onto the Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS).

The Municipality in a resolution adopted at a meeting held on July 5, 2011, entreated the national Association to ensure that immediate steps were taken with the Government to open negotiations based on their current salary structure before their migration onto the SSSS.

The resolution, made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Wenchi on Wednesday, was jointly signed by Akum Benwarwick, Municipal Chairman and Cliford Dramani, Secretary.

"Having carefully and critically deliberated and analyzed current issues pertaining to the welfare and wellbeing of our members in the Municipality as well as those in the country, and other pressing issues with our employer, we adopted this resolution", the resolution stressed.

It noted also that the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission could not fulfill its promise to migrate CLOGSAG onto the SSSS by the end of June 2011.

"We are now in July, 2011 but we have the information that the health service workers are yet to be migrated onto the SSSS. This shows that CLOGSAG members are nowhere near there", it indicated.

The resolution added 93we expect that by the end of July 2011, there should be a substantial improvement in our salaries to meet the exigencies of the time".
