The Chief Policy Analyst for the Ghana Institute for Public Policy Options (GIPPO), Dr. Charles Wereko – Brobbey has jumped into the fray with regard to the revelations from the just ended Greater Works Conference (GWC) organized by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).

According to him, it is wrong for churches to determine amounts of monies to be paid by members of the congregation. He rather advocated for the kind of giving that comes out of a free will.

The ICGC and its founder, pastor Mensa Otabil have been subjected to a barrage of disapprovals from a cross – section of the Ghanaian public, when details of a special offering came to light.

Dr. Mensa Otabil later issued a response to the criticisms raised by members of the public.

Dr. Wereko – Brobbey further stated that generosity is reflected when one gives out resources voluntarily; however, it becomes extortion when fees are set for people to pay.
