Miss Soale Fatima, a Road Side Seller of Mineral Drinks at Fufulso (Damongo Junction) in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah has alleged she was assaulted by the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the West Gonja Assembly Hon Muhazu Saeed Jibril in the morning of today 27th May 2020, over a Tampico drink.
Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi FM, Fatima said, the MCE Mahazu Saeed Jibril alighted from his car on his way to Tamale and asked for a drink called “Tampico”, and she (Fatima) served him with the drink.
Fatima explained that the MCE opened it and some part of the head was not attached to the bottle and so he the MCE rejected it and asked for a different one.
According to Fatima, she told the MCE it is the nature of that drink from the factory and went ahead to change the drink for the MCE, and when he open the second one, it has same problem.
According to Fatima said then said “can’t you see that one too is the same, Sir?”
Miss Fatima said this question made the MCE, Saeed Jibril annoyed and he could not control his temper and insulted her that “she is a dog”, “he can take care of her and the family” and so on.
Fatima said at that point she protested by saying she could take all insults from the MCE but not insults on the parents.
Miss Fatima said she carried the drinks to a different location at the back of the MCE’s car and rearranging them to carry on his head but someone who was in the MCE’s car asked her what was wrong and she tried to explain but before she realises, the MCE slapped her face and pushed her resulting in her drinks falling from her head to the ground.
All efforts by the Nkilgi FM to get the side of the MCE proved futile because his two telephone numbers were off.
