What are retirees grabbing properties for? – Former UDS PRO VC wonders

A former Pro Vice Chancellor of the University for Development Studies (UDS), Prof. David Millar, is puzzled by the growing notoriety of retirees acquiring properties.

He wonders what such individuals will do with the acquired property in their old age when they are at the apex of their lives on earth.

"The old ones sitting there are still amassing wealth, and I don't know for what. I'm also an old man, around 70. I'm asking, my age mates, grabbing wealth to do what? Even driving a V8 isn't easy. If you drive an Uber, it's easier for you at that age. Where do you go apart from the church? Where do you go? I'm fed up with the old ones. They are the problem," he stated on Bolgatanga-based Dreamz FM.

The President of the Millar Institute for Transdisciplinary and Cultural Studies blamed these property-grabbing senior citizens for the woes and underdevelopment of the country.

He urged them to be nationalistic, warning that if they do not change their ways, there may come a time when the youth of the country could rise against them.

Prof. Millar also charged the youth to rise and protect the state coffers and their future against such malfeasance.

"My preoccupation is not to sensitize but to make the youth angry enough to tell the rest of the country enough is enough," he disclosed.
