President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has belittled the chances of his archrival John Dramani Mahama as the country goes to the polls in 2020, which is likely going to be the usual two-horse race.

Without giving former President Mahama who is staging a comeback to the presidency a dog’s chance, Akufo-Addo declared, “We are going to see another emphatic victory in 2020”.

President Akufo-Addo defeated then President Mahama in the 2016 presidential election with close to one million votes.

According to him, he has travelled across the length and breadth of the country to assess his stewardship for the past three years and indicated that evidence on the ground points to nothing but a victory for him.

Without dwelling much on his own achievements for the past three years, Akufo-Addo wondered what the message of his main contender would be.

He was speaking at this year’s Delegates Conference of the governing New Patriotic Party in Accra on Sunday, December 22, 2019.

“What are they coming back to do?” he asked a crowd of over 6000 at the Fantasy Dome of the Trade Fair Centre at La.

“What is the programme of NDC under the leadership of Mahama?” he enquired and rhetorically posited if it would be the negative growth of agriculture, high inflation, high deficit, going to the IMF for credit credibility among others.

“I am confident that by the grace of the almighty on 8th December 2020 the Electoral Commission will declare the NPP winner of the general elections,” he said.

He explained how the conference came by the theme ‘We have performed better – 4 more to do more’.

According to the president, whilst touring the country, the large crowd that poured out to meet him said that he deserves four more years as they chanted “four more for Nana”.
