Media personality cum philanthropist Dr. Oheneyere Gifty Anti has called for a united effort to support the needy, emphasizing the importance of collective benevolence for national development.

Speaking at the ‘See Us Give’ Conference in Accra on Saturday, August 3, 2024, she shared her personal journey in philanthropy, urging others to embrace a similar path.

Dr. Anti highlighted that her charitable acts are intertwined with her personal life, including her marriage and her nearly seven-year-old daughter.

She recounted dreams that guided her to remember the poor and needy, believing that her benevolence played a crucial role in addressing her own pressing needs, such as having a child.

The Conference, an initiative of the CS-Give App powered by Corporate Synergy, aims to promote a culture of generosity, philanthropy, and volunteerism in Ghana.

Dr. Anti further spoke about the challenges of giving, including betrayal and disappointment, but affirmed her commitment to continue her charitable efforts.

“Giving comes with betrayal, giving comes with disappointment, giving comes with scars, but we give all the same. Every year after my giving experience, I tell myself I won’t do it again, but the next moment I am out there because giving is inside me,” she said.

She added, “Whatever God gave to you is not just for you.”

Bishop Prince Asare Boateng, General Overseer of Blessed Pillars Prayer Ministry, echoed her sentiments and emphasised that blessings and resources should be shared to support others and charitable causes.

Rev. Dr. Michael Onwona Appiah, Co-founder and CEO of CS-GIVE LIC, stressed the importance of collective action to build a future where everyone can thrive, despite the global challenge of donor fatigue and Ghana's middle-income status.

Peter Bismark Kwofie, Executive Director and fundraising expert at the Institute for Liberty and Policy Innovation, noted the significance of the conference in bringing together church leaders, social entrepreneurs, and leaders of profit organizations to address poverty-driven issues.

Other speakers included Benjamin Osei, Co- Founder of CS-GIVE APP, Reverend Emmanuel Quao, Head Pastor of House of Glory Ministries and Mrs Sandra Amponsah Ayivor , Executive Director of GNS Foundation.

Held under the theme “The Power of Giving: Inspiring a Culture of Generosity,” the conference equipped attendees with effective fundraising techniques, community support strategies, and sustainable financial plans, with a special focus on digital giving and fundraising.

Sub-themes included the benefits of giving to individuals and communities, philanthropy and charitable giving, volunteering and community service, and innovative approaches to social impact.
