Former President John Dramani Mahama is demanding answers to the whereabouts of the factories and dams promised by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

‘’Where are the factories? Where are the dams? Where the warehouses? Where is the one million dollars per constituency? Addressing delegates of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Tatale constituency, ahead of the party’s flagbearership race, Mr Mahama after crisscrossing the constituencies and districts of the Northern Region for three days as part of his five-day tour of the region to interact with NDC delegates, he has yet to see a single factory from the One District One factory NPP manifesto promise.

The former President says the lesson in the unfulfilled promises is that it is easier for promises to be made but not kept.

“It is easier to give political lectures on the economy than to mange the economy”, he said. Mr Mahama further said, “any Economics lecturer can give lectures on the economy. But not every lecturer can manage the economy”.

President Nana Akufo-Addo in July visited the construction site of the 1-village-1-dam project in Bongo, as part of his 2-day tour of the Upper West Region. With a total of 570 dams to be constructed in the Upper East, Upper West and Northern Regions, the President indicated that 10 of these dams will be sited in the Bongo constituency, which will ensure all-year-round agriculture in the district.

Addressing a durbar of chiefs at Bongo, as part of his tour, he noted that the performance of his administration, over the last 18 months, is an indication that the promises in the run-up to the 2016 elections, were not meant to hoodwink them.

Then Presidential Candidate Akufo-Addo boldly declared at a mini-rally in Ejumako on June 18, 2016 he will embark on an industrialization agenda if he won the election.
