The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has stated that his outfit has the right to consult the government regarding the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo.

He explained that the GFA Executive Council is engaging the Ministry of Youth and Sports on a number of issues concerning the Black Stars and their failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

The GFA communications director noted that since the Ministry of Youth and Sports will be responsible for settling Otto Addo financially if sacked, it is prudent for the GFA to seek their opinion on pertinent issues.

"It depends on where you sit, but the council is referring to the ministry on a number of issues. They have every means to consult the ministry.

"This is because, finally, when you even take a decision to fire the coach and there is an issue about paying him off, it is the responsibility of the ministry and the government to pay him off," he told Fentuo Tahiru during an interview on Joy FM.

Otto Addo presented his report, which included the reasons for the team's poor performance, when he met the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council on November 27, 2024.

The meeting ended inconclusively as the GFA indicated that they would engage more stakeholders, including the government, to determine the fate of Otto Addo.
