Ajax head coach Francesco Farioli has expressed disappointment over the club's failure to complete the signing of Ghanaian winger Kamaldeen Sulemana.

The manager said the deal was chaotic because Ajax had to work around the clock to get the transfer over the line.

He explained that the deal was more complicated due to Ajax losing two players in the final days of the transfer window.

"I would have loved to switch off my phone before the deadline, but I couldn’t due to some important calls. We were dealing with financial constraints and lost two players while trying to bring in Kamaldeen [Sulemana]. It was chaotic and frustrating for everyone involved."

"We can cry about what happened, or we can find a way to move forward," he shared.

Ajax were reported to have agreed on a deal with Southampton and the player a few minutes before the window closed.

The Eredivisie reportedly submitted documents to FIFA for approval after the window had closed to complete the final details, but their request was declined, causing the move to fall through.
