Wiaga (U/E), Aug. 21, - Nab Asiuk Akaanfeba-Nyota, Chief of Wiaga in the Builsa district of the Upper East region, has appealed to the government and non-governmental organisations for food aid for his people during the extended lean season. Nab Akanfeba-Nyota, who made the appeal at a durbar organised by the Wiaga youth association to discuss the up-grading of the St Martins junior secondary school to a senior secondary school, said the failure of the early millet has led to food shortage in the area. He said a number of families are finding it difficult to survive the season's poor yield. Nab Akanfeba-Nyota advised developers to channel their request for land through chiefs who would contact land owners on their behalf to avoid delays. On the up-grading of the school, the meeting decided to send a delegation to the Ghana Education Service and the Ministry of Education to discuss the issue.
