Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised new signing Wisdom Fernando Bassey for his performance in the team's 1-0 win over Nsoatreman FC in the Ghana Premier League.

The Nigerian forward, who joined the Porcupine Warriors in the recent transfer window, came on as a second-half substitute and made a noticeable impact in Wednesday’s match.

His contribution was crucial as Kotoko secured a narrow victory, moving them up to second place in the standings.

Speaking to Kotoko TV after the match, Coach Ogum expressed his satisfaction with Bassey's debut performance.

"I think it’s good for him. He came in, his first game, and he even had the opportunity to score. As a team, the players in the dressing room, the technical staff, everybody was happy for him. We are all happy that he came in and made an impact. We only hope that he will keep the momentum when given the opportunity again to play," Ogum said.

With this promising debut, Wisdom Bassey will be eager to earn more playing time in the upcoming fixtures. Kotoko's next challenge is against Accra Lions, and the Porcupine Warriors will be looking to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
