Withdrawal of Charges: Money has been lost, we must investigate it – Kwame Jantuah to A-G

Ghanaian lawyer and member of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Kwame Jantuah, has urged Attorney-General Dominic Ayine to investigate the loss of state funds tied to high-profile corruption cases, despite the recent decision to discontinue prosecutions.

In an interview on Asaase Radio’s The Forum, monitored by MyNewsGH, Jantuah expressed concern that while the accused individuals have been freed, the financial loss remains a stain on the country.

“Where these individuals have been freed, the stain of the loss is still there. So, if for nothing at all, the AG should go back and find out how that money was lost.

“Money has been lost, and it’s been proven. So go in there, and that is what you should do before coming out to clear anyone,” he stated.

Jantuah also addressed concerns about political bias in these cases, arguing that if there are suspicions of a witch-hunt, the best course of action is to conduct an independent investigation to determine how the money went missing.

“If you are unsure and feel there is possibly a witch-hunt against your own, conduct an investigation to uncover how this money got lost,” he added.
