A 13-year-old head porter popularly known as Kakaye, identified as Aisha, has been bitten to death by a certain Memuna, trader at the Kumasi Central Market.
The incident which occurred on Saturday May 26, 2018 has thrown both Kakayes and traders at Central market into a state of shock.

Some Kakayes narrating the unfortunate incident to Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo said on the day of the incident, the deceased went to sleep in front of Memuna’s shop which generated into a heated exchange between the deceased and the suspect.
According to them, Memuna in the course of the confrontation allegedly bit the deceased and she bled profusely while being conveyed to the hospital.

The deceased was pronounced dead today May 29, 2018 at the Manhyia Government hospital where she had been admitted for treatment.

“When we went to the hospital, the doctor told us, our friend has been infected by poison. This is not the first time Memuna is doing this.

Last year she bit a certain woman to death and today too our sister is dead because of the same Memuna. We came here to beat her to death but she is no where to be found,” some angry head porters told Abusuafmonline.com.

The angry Kakayes have since been on rampage vandalizing the suspect’s shop and goods she had displayed for sale at the Kumasi market.

Meanwhile traders at Central Market have threatened a naked demonstration against the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly on Monday June 4, 2018 if Memuna is not ejected from the place.

A trader at Central Market, Amuno Gyamfua said on several occasions, Memuna threatens us with cutlass anytime there is a misunderstanding involving her.

“The lady (Memuna) is not normal and we have complained this issue several times to KMA and nothing has been done about it. We can’t entertain her anymore so we are giving KMA from today to Monday to eject her from this place else we will stage a massive demonstration against KMA authorities” Gyamfua said.
