Cape Coast, April 1, GNA - Regina Duker, 47, a worker at Cape Coast Castle, was on Thursday arrested by the Police for allegedly selling the same property to two different men and renting it out to another.
Chief Inspector Khanin Osafo told the GNA that Mr. John Fredrick Mensah, Board Secretary of Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs Football Club, reported the woman to the police after she failed to produce documents to a house he allegedly bought from her. Mr. Mensah wanted a house to buy and the suspect told him that she had a nice house at Abura in Cape Coast for sale at the cost of GHC 35,000.
She collected GHC 23,000 out of the amount but when he went to the house he noticed to his amazement that it had earlier been sold to one Mr. Asante for GHC 18,000. The Police said during police investigations it came out that Duker has also rented the house out to an ECG staff. He said, Mr. Mensah on realizing that he had been duped, demanded either his money back or be given the documents to the property but the suspect failed to produce any and a report was made to the police.
