The woman who bathed the Police Commander for Assin Praso in the Assin North Municipality of the Central Region, Superintendent Isaac Tetteh and his two subordinates faces two charges.

Central Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO), DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong who confirmed the arrest of Mawutor Gashiku to MyNewsGh.com, revealed that she would be charged or assaulting a public officer and resisting arrest.

“She will be charged for assaulting a public officer and resisting arrest. She is currently at the Central Regional Police Command and we will arraign her before court soon”, she revealed.

The suspect in her mid-40s bathed the police chief and his assignees with a pot of hot soup in an attempt to arrest some irate youth of the area for attacking a rival group.

MyNewsGh.com confirmed that Mawutor Gashiku who was hiding the suspects believed to be her relations in her room emptied the hot contents of the pot on the police chief and his assignees who tried arresting the suspects last Thursday night.

It is gathered that she fled the community after the incident but was arrested at the Assin Fosu Lorry Park in an attempt to flee the area last Saturday.

Meanwhile, two other policemen including Corporal Rawuf Seidu and another who were also attacked in the process leaving them with various degrees of injuries are said to be recuperating.
