Women march over mystery killings

ACCRA, Oct 20 (Reuters) - Thousands of women marched in Ghana's capital Accra on Wednesday to press for action against the unexplained killings of scores of women in the city.

Demonstrators dressed in black and sporting red armbands chanted slogans condemning police for failing to end the killings of at least 20 women over the past year.

Many Ghanaians blame the deaths on ritual killers.

Most of the deaths have been in Accra's western district, where the bodies have generally been left in unfinished or abandoned buildings, residents say.
