Women should insist on condom use before sex- Bartimeus

Efutute (E/R), July 3, GNA - A family planning expert, has advised women to learn how the male condom is used in order to encourage their partners to patronise it to protect themselves against Sexually Transmitted Infections (STDs) including HIV/AIDS. The Chairman of the Abiriw branch of the Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), Mr Kenneth Bartimeus, gave the advice at a talk on the prevention of the spread of STDs and HIV/AIDS at Efutute, in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region on Saturday. The programme was organised by the PPAG in conjunction with the Akuapem North District Assembly to educate residents. A team from the assembly also conducted Voluntary Counselling and Testing for HIV/AIDS to enable the people to know their HIV status. Some members of the team also moved from house to house to educate the people on how to protect themselves against HIV/AIDS. Mr Bartimeus advised women to use female condoms anytime their sexual partners are demanding unprotected sex. 3 July 10
