Work progresses on project

Gomoa-Kyiren (C/R), Oct. 23, GNA - Work is progressing steadily on a 500 million cedis place of convenience for the people of Gomoa-Kyiren in the Central Region.

It is being constructed by the Government with the support of the Gomoa District Assembly.

Addressing the people after a four-hour communal labour on the project on Friday, the assemblyman for the area, Mr. K. Sam, appealed to them to endeavour to make communal duties part of their national life. He told the people that it was wrong for anyone to conceive the notion that the development of various communities was the sole responsibility of the Government and the District Assemblies alone. He said if people in the rural communities initiate development projects, they would attract the full backing of the Central Government, the district assemblies and non-governmental organisations. Mr. Sam also counselled the youth in the area to consider

themselves as the window of hope for the future of the nation and refrain from all forms of indiscipline likely to retard their progress and the nation.
