World Milk Day: Arla Foods donates to pediatric unit of 37 Millitary Hospital, others

To mark World Milk Day and to serve nutritious goodness to its cherished customers, Arla foods, producers of Dano milk has made donations to the pediatric unit of the 37 Military Hospital and some other hospitals in Accra.

The donation also saw the distribution of various Dano milk products all worth GHs52,000 to parents and children who visited the hospitals.

In a speech read on his by Mr. Lawrence Paresen, Production Manager of Arla Foods, the General Manager of Arla Foods, Mr. Paul Nortey Dowuona underscored the nutritional benefits of milk and the role it plays in ensuring our overall well-being.

Speaking on the theme, “Moving towards a healthy tomorrow…” he reiterated Arla Food’s commitment to providing high-quality dairy products that contribute to a healthy lifestyle.

Mr. Dowuona commended the children for their courage and determination: “To the children here today, I want you to know that you are our inspiration. Your courage and determination remind us of the importance of taking care of ourselves.”

When asked about how Arla Foods is taking care of consumers in the hard economic times; Mr. Wilson Agbeko, Arla Foods’ Marketing Manager, on his part, explained that “Arla Foods recognises that living conditions have become generally high and that is why we are giving Ghanaians high nutritional products that they can afford.”

“In line with the theme of moving towards a healthy tomorrow, Dano Milk stands as a beacon of nutritional goodness, offering a rich source of calcium, protein, vitamins, and minerals that are essential for strong bones, healthy muscles, and overall vitality. We take pride in promoting a balanced and healthy lifestyle through the consumption of milk, encouraging individuals of all ages to incorporate this natural superfood into their daily diet,” he added.

Ag. Head of the Department of the Pediatric Unit of the 37 Military Hospital, Dr. Sheila Asamoah-Okyere, who received the items on behalf of the hospital, expressed her appreciation to Arla Foods. She also thanked the company for the parents and children who benefitted from the massive donations. “This donation means a whole lot to us. As you can see, there are so many children on the ward and for us, it will boost their appetite. It will help boost their health, and we’re very grateful.”

“God bless you and we hope in the coming years, more things will come. Thank you so much,” she said.

World Milk Day is an international Day set aside by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and observed on June 1 each year to recognize the importance of Milk as a global food.
