Worry About Chief Justice Appointment Not EC Boss- Anthony Gyampo

Former eastern regional secretary of NDC, Mr. Anthony Gyampo has expressed shock at the way and manner some people including intellectuals are panting over the appointment of the new electoral commission chairman. According to him, the constitution clearly indicates the formular the president must follow so he wonders why some people are calling for wider consultations unless they are asking the president to go against the constitution.
Mr. Gyampo said this in an exclusive with the reporter at his residence at Larteh in the Akwapim north constituency of the eastern region.
He therefore called on those to rather take into consideration the appointment of the chief justice instead of the electoral commissioner. " I think the appointment of the chief justice should rather be the worry to ghanaians instead of the electoral commissioner because of the powers reposed in them by the constitution" he added.
The former Boss of the electricity company of Ghana however fingered the opposition for fuelling such baseless arguments just because they have already started panicking ahead of the 2016 general elections. He also blamed successive governments for not doing much in the energy sector which has led to the current power crises(dumsor) but assured the public of government's commitment to solving the issue.
Mr. Anthony Gyampo expressed confident in the current regional executives led by their chairman, Bismark Tawiah Boateng and therefore called on party supporters to support them with hardwork in order to achieve the 50%/50% agenda.
