Woyome Bank Accounts Frozen Since 2011

EOCO “nicodemously” freezes Woyome Bank Accounts Illegally Since Last Year.

Following recent publications alluding to the fact that the courts had ruled that the Bank Accounts and Financial Assets of Mr. Alfred Agbesi Woyome be frozen, we have been inundated with calls from well-wishers of Mr. Woyome as to what effect this action is likely to have on Mr. Alfred Woyome.

We wish to, by the issuance of this Press Statement, allay the fears of all family members, friends and well-wishers of Mr. Alfred Woyome: And to categorically state that this situation has been in effect since December last year [2011] when the Economic and Organized Crime Office [EOCO], with no firm basis, froze all the Bank Accounts of Mr. Alfred Woyome and went on to freeze the Bank Accounts of companies [who are separate legally existing entities] who have ABSOLUTELY no interest in the 51.28 million Ghana cedis Judgment debt paid to Mr. Alfred Woyome by the Government of Ghana.

Therefore, for a little over 3 months, Mr. Alfred Woyome has not had any access to his Bank Accounts. Neither have the companies affected by this unilateral action of the EOCO been able to access their Bank Accounts in order to transact their ordinary business.

The reportage on the court ruling by the mass media sought to paint a picture of more hardship for Alfred Agbesi Woyome and to make it seem like this was a brand new occurrence. This is far from the truth since, as already stated in this Statement, EOCO “nicodemously” moved to freeze Mr. Alfred Woyome’s Bank Accounts and other accounts totally unrelated to the payment of the Judgment Debt! What the court has done is to give tacit endorsement to the unmeritorious action of the EOCO and Mr. Woyome’s lawyers have been instructed to advise his next course of action.

Further to all the foregoing, Mr. Alfred Woyome remains strong and resolute, eagerly looking forward to the commencement of the court hearings into the 51.28 million Ghana cedis Judgment Debt payment so that, once and for all, his good name shall be restored.

As he said in his last Press Statement, his primary focus is that the truth, and nothing but the truth, is unearthed in the long run.

We end here by repeating our earlier appeal to all family, friends and well-wishers of Alfred Agbesi Woyome to calm down and remain in prayer; your brother and friend has been sustained by God and angelic well-wishers and they continue to sustain him. God will surely vindicate Alfred Woyome!
