Woyome’s call for an NPP witness is a joke- Nana Akomea

The Communications Director of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Nana Akomea has rubbished calls by Business man Alfred Woyome for the flagbearer of the NPP Nana Akufo-Addo to be dragged before court as a witness.

Businessman Alfred Woyome is alleging the involvement of Nana Addo in the abrogation of contracts in the past which makes him rightly placed to answer questions in court.

The prosecution on two occasions has failed to present witnesses in the on-going battle to retrieve the 51 million Cedis judgment debt paid to Mr. Woyome.

Speaking to Citi News, Nana Akomea said there are clear signs of collusion between the state and business man Alfred Woyome to defraud the State.

“Everybody in Ghana knows that this is a farce and it will get nowhere. If you look at this Woyome case, we are told that President Mills stopped the payments on two occasions. We also know that the courts of Ghana also stopped the payment in September 2010 yet still this government went ahead and paid all the monies to Mr. Woyome,” he stated.

According to Mr. Akomea “When the matter came to light and every Ghanaian was up in arms then the government said that Woyome had defrauded us so we are taking him to court for the court to order him to pay the money back to us.”

“Now Woyome is saying NPP should be called? This is a joke. Everybody knows it’s a collusion and connivance at the highest level,” he added.

Mr. Woyome is facing two counts of defrauding by false pretences and causing financial loss to the state.
