Businessman Alfred Agbesi Woyome should have just paid back the GHC51 million judgment debt immediately after the Supreme Court ruled to that effect, Vice President of policy Think Tank IMANI Ghana, Kofi Bentil has said.
A single Supreme Court judge, Justice Anin Yeboah on Wednesday November 16 upheld Mr. Amidu’s case in which he was seeking to examine Mr. Woyome on how he spent the GHC51 million judgment debt paid illegally to him.
As part of the ruling, the court has ordered Mr. Woyome to testify on oath on the 24th of November 2016 as the examination by Mr. Martin Amidu commences.
Mr Amidu sought the Supreme courts’ assistance after the Attorney General discontinued a move to give an oral examination of Mr. Woyome.
Mr. Amidu had earlier argued via an article the current Attorney General and the NDC government lack the moral ability to pursue Woyome.
Bentil told GHOne News’ Nana Aba Anamoah on State of Affairs Wednesday evening Woyome would have been better off paying the money than “playing hide and seek”.
