Lead counsel for beleaguered businessman Alfred Agbesi, has revealed that his client under oral examination by former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Martin Amidu will not divulge the alleged beneficiaries of the 51.2 million cedis he wrongfully received.

According to Mr. David Annan, the application for Mr Woyome to be orally examined by Martin Amidu, is not meant to reveal the supposed beneficiaries of the cash.

“People are already jubilating because they feel names will be mentioned in court. The examination is to determine if my client has the capacity to pay back the amount he wrongfully received or otherwise”, he disclosed.

Speaking on the Ultimate Breakfast Show hosted by Lantam Papanko, he stated those who are already jubilating with the hopes of names being mentioned are legally ignorant and should seek explanation from the ruling.

Lawyer David Annan revealed that his client is more than prepared for the exercise on Thursday adding that there is absolutely nothing to hide and those who are seeking to vilify his client may be disappointed.

He accused Martin Amidu of pursuing a political agenda under the guise of an anti corruption campaigner adding that it defeats the main purpose for which he went to court.

“Martin Amidu is now using the whole Woyome issue for political gain. If not so why will he be calling for a change in government? This is a manifestation that he has veered off the legal path which discredits and weakens his fight as ant corruption activist”.
