The Young Professional Network, a professional group sympathetic to the New Patriotic Party has established its first diasporan branch in Vancouver, Canada as part of effort to mobilise various professionals in different fields to support the activities of the party and Ghana in general.
During the maiden meeting in Canada, the President of the Group, Mr. Stephen Asiedu expressed joy for the initiative as this will further increase the professional base of the party.
According to him, the move was also to enable collaborations in order to organise periodic exchange programes where they can leverage on the individual capacities for the benefit of the party in particular and Ghana in general.
Present at the meeting were the Director of Political Affairs at the Office of the Chief of Staff at the Presidency, Mr Frank Asiedu and Dr. Nadia Adongo Musah, Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President.
Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe used the occasion to send them warm greetings from the His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, President of the Republic of Ghana and Hon Akosua Frema Osei Opare, Chief of Staff of Ghana and also reiterated Ghana’s achievement of a stable power supply, single digit inflation and the appointment of Ghana to host the continental Free Trade Area secretariat amongst others. He admonished Ghanaian in the diaspora to consider and actually partner with Young professionals for business collaborations, and knowledge sharing.
Dr. Nadia Adongo Musah, Deputy Director of Diaspora Affairs also used the occasion to apprise them of President’s commitment towards passing the bill to allow dual citizens to hold key government positions.
On the part of professionals in Vancouver, they expressed joy in this initiative and their readiness to consolidate the branch. Mr. Frimpong on his part encouraged all young professionals to join the initiative to promote the collective interest of all in Vancouver whilst leveraging on the capacities of their counterparts professionals in Ghana and other countries.
