Yendi Municipality engages in dry season farming

Yendi (N/R), Jan. 24, GNA - The Yendi Municipality in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) would engage in intensive dry season farming with effect from this year to keep the peopl= e in active agriculture. The project dubbed; 'Human Security Project,' is aimed at utilizing the seven-month long period of drought in the area. The Yendi Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Walvis Hudu, who disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency in an interview at the weekend, s= aid the project starts with an initial capital of GH¢11,000.00 and about 30=

Technology training to improve their skills. The MCE urged the youths to acquire vocational and other skills to b= e able to bring their innovations and creativity to bear on the development= of the nation, saying; "All of us cannot be in offices for the country to function efficiently". He called on the youth to persevere and be consistent in their chose= n career to be able to succeed in life instead of resorting to unorthodox means of becoming rich which could detrimental to their lives. 24 Jan. 01
