You Don’t Have To Kill To Serve Ghanaians – Duncan-Williams

The National Association of Charismatic and Pentecostal Churches, has advised the presidential candidates vying for the Presidency, “not to be too desperate for power to the extent that it results to violence and killings.”

The Chairman of the Association and the General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams at a media briefing on Wednesday, noted that any person who is voted to govern is “to serve this country and whoever the people choose, it’s the will of the people and must be respected. And if you are not given the opportunity to come and serve, wait for another term or wait for your turn. But if you have to resort to violence and killing to come and serve us, it is not force.”

“If you want to serve me and I say no, I want somebody else, you don’t have to kill to come and serve me. It is not a force. So anybody who resorts to violence and killing must know that your motive will be judged and you will wake up on the wrong side of history,” he added.

Archbishop Duncan-Williams gave the assurance that there was no need for fear or alarm in the light of the recent happenings because “we are peaceful people and we were not raised and trained in refugee camps by our parents. We were brought up in a free Ghana and I am confident that all Ghanaians loving the peace we have enjoyed all these years, will protect it and make sure that our children will not be raised in refugee camps just as we weren’t raised in refugee camps.”

He emphasised that by the end of the polls, “Ghana will still be intact, the cars will still drive on our highways, our children will go to school and come back home safe, our mothers and fathers will still go to work and return home safe, our airwaves will be safe.”
